7-Eleven is the world’s largest convenient retailer with approximately 56,600 stores worldwide. All of their stores are well designed, clean and energy efficient. Whether they are renovating an existing store or establishing a new location, the construction timeline is always tight and the grand opening date set in stone to meet their goal to offer value, variety and freshness to the community.
The Kalihi Kai store in Oahu sits on one of the busiest roads in Hawaii. The building 7-Eleven was to occupy required a complete facility upgrade. The project required all new construction from empty shell to new, more reliable and energy efficient equipment to complete the buildout.
Solution
Heide & Cook designed and installed a new freezer/chiller walk-in combo with 14 retail glass doors, piped in new evaporative fan coil units, installed open display refrigerated cases and a number of under-the-counter units. All of the equipment was selected with energy-efficient motors and specially designed Mitsubishi Inverter Condensing Units. The project also included the installation of LED lighting and energy-saving digital controls.
The entire project was designed to meet the demanding goals of 7-Eleven. Heide & Cook delivered the new complex system on budget and ahead of schedule. The installation met all of the rigorous 7-Eleven standards prior to the construction deadline opening another energy efficient and convenient location.
